Introduction
============

This document discusses the following topics.

* **Project Suggestions** - A description of how staff project suggestions are handled and the process to follow if you would like to suggest a project topic.

* **Project Shortlist** - A definition of the shortlist and a description of how it used.

* **Project Bids** - A descripiton of the process to indicate which projects you want to bid for in the project allocation process.

* **Project Allocations** - An outline of how the bids are processed and how project allocations are confirmed. 

* **Timetable** - A summary of the planned dates for stages in this process.

* **General Comments** -  A set of general notes about this process, including advice on selecting projects to Bid for.

The allocation process takes place during Semester 1 with the aim of everyone being ready to start work as soon as the teaching in Semester 2 starts.
