3. Roles on this ProjectΒΆ
The following roles are used on this module.
Students - Obviously, your role on the project is to undertake the work.
Supervisors - A member of staff who will supervise a group of students as they work on the projects. Where the Supervisor has suggested the project topic for the student, the supervisor may also act as a customer for the idea. The supervisor is one of the markers for your project.
Second Markers - A member of staff, who is typically supervising another student on the MMP modules. The Second Marker does not need to have specific knowledge of your topic. The Second Marker provides a second view on the work that you complete.
Module Coordinator and Moderator - The Module Coordinator is responsible for organising the module. This includes making sure that all students have a project and supervisor, arranging the demonstration timetable, providing information about the modules and ensuring that marking and moderation is performed according to our processes.
We intend that the Supervisor and the Second Marker will be the same person for all of the assessed components. In rare circumstances, we have had to make changes to this. For example, staff illness has required that we change the staff involved. We do our best to minimise any disruption if this does happen.
It is worth noting that the supervisor is the person who has probably seen more of your work during the degree. Therefore, the supervisor could be a good person to ask to ask as a referee when you are applying for jobs and further study.
