ReferencesΒΆ
The References section is where you list all of the references that you have used during the project. This list includes information necessary to identify each resource. If someone reading your report wants to find out more about a particular idea, the reference will provide details so that we can find the original materials. Information to identify a resource will include information such as author, the title, date of publication, publisher and if it an online resource, the URL.
We are asking for you to enter an annotation for each of the references. This annotation is a brief summary of what the resource is about and how it was relevant for your work. The BibTeX files in the LaTeX project templates contains the ability to easily add and display annotations. Microsoft Word has a useful References facility, but it is not good for supporting annotated references. The References feature allows you to enter comments, but it does not seem to display those comments when it generates the references in a particular format. The current work around is add the reference section, then convert that to static text. That would be something that you do at the end of your editing of the report. Then, once it is static text, you can add the annotations.
See the Citation and Referencing guide for more information about references.
